Process of Knockdown & Rebuild
To give you a clear idea of the process and costs of a demolish and rebuild, we’ve created a helpful timeline outlining the key milestones along the way.
Stage 1
The process begins by working with a New Homes Consultant to finalize your home design and pricing. Once the design and Preliminary Works Contract (PWC) are approved, you will move into the Pre-construction phase. The next step involves signing the HIA building contract, ensuring everything is set for the project to proceed.
If demolition is required, we can help by arranging an external quote from our preferred contractors. Demolition costs depends on salvageable materials and site requirements.
Stage 2
We recommend obtaining unconditional finance approval before proceeding with demolition, unless you are a cash buyer. Keeping your New Homes Consultant updated throughout this process ensures everything stays on track. Once financing is secured, you will need to coordinate with your demolition contractor and schedule the demolition of your existing home. Throughout this journey, our team will be there to support you every step of the way, ensuring a smooth pre-construction process and a seamless transition to building your new home.
Final Stage
Before demolition, the client must arrange for the rollback of NBN services and work with their demolition contractor to secure all necessary approvals. Once everything is in place, the house is demolished, clearing the way for construction. After demolition, we will conduct a post-demolition inspection or any additional surveys if needed to assess site conditions and confirm any construction requirements.
Construction Stage
Once the demolition is complete, the block is leveled and prepared for construction, ensuring a stable foundation for your new home.
